Congrats!!! The only time I miss cable is when DLing large files. I.E. bigger than 20MB or so.

For regular surfing and DLing duties, there really "is no difference" b/t DLing in 30 seconds vs. 45 seconds, you know? Besides, my UPLOAD speed is 2x what it was with cable. Regularly see 60KB/s uploads. :D

Intro price plus paying for cable tv (or $10 extra for no cable) adds up.

i had both Verizon and Comcast for a while.

i find that dsl surfs better, quicker, whereas comcast downloads faster.

When i called, they wouldnt offer a damn thing, so i cancelled most of it all. As soon as i move in 2 months, im switching to Satellite as well.

ya, they are stupid that way. i was with comcast for 5 yrs before i switched to DishTV and Verizon. i had dish for a year and then took advantage of Comcasts buyback.

but ya, they are stupid about not trying to keep clients.

Check your cable home page and see if they offer free usenet, else you'll have to "pay" to get access to a usenet server.

For me it's not a choice, but I had DSL before and the browsing was a little smoother. However, my D/Ls now are BLAZING. 3mbps. I couldn't ask for more at this price. For $90/month, I get basic cable, digital cable, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, HBO HD (2 channels), Showtime HD (2 channels), local (CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox) channels all in HD, 3mbps/384kbps d/u internet service, and the receiver.

I don't see myself switching to DSL anytime soon.
