I said WTF your not even suposto have the car in the first place, I show him the title and the cop says that I dont have to sign any thing. We took the car and they were arrested.

Let's say the tables were turned, say the guy had taken the car out of the tow company's garage. The cops would have come and arrested him, no questions asked.
