yea, for me, finally replacing my aging Kingwin fans.

I've been using some kingwin 80mm 2300rpm fans for nearly 2 years, they have been slowly getting noisier and noisier.

I was looking hard for some High speed Panaflo's, and use a rheostat to adjust sound to taste, but couldn't find any for less than $10 shipped each. so I decided to try these. should be here wed. or thurs. for me to test over the coming weekend, I'll post my personal review after testing. let me know any questions you want answered about these and I'll include it in my "report"

7.99 shipped each

Just so you'll know, those babies are screamers at full bore, almost as bad as a Tornado. :Q I've bought 3 of these lately and been very impressed with them. Even when they spin-up the transition is smooth and not whiny at all.

I figure I'll likely run them at ~3000rpm each.

3 are to be case fans and 1 my replacement heatsink fan (I have an all copper speeze hsf, the fan on it is making a varying pitch, not loud, but anoying).

I've got 5 in my system right now and even at their lowest level they're a bit louder than I'd like.

Had to get louder speakers to drown them out 😉
(ok, maybe that wasn't the real reason)

i have 3 of them in my case right now, running full speed. they are loud as hell haha. waiting for my new fans and mobo to come in so i can finally put all my stuff in my new case.

Yeah, but why buy a muscular fan in the first place if all you're going to do is cut its voltage? It makes far more sense to buy a fan that suits your needs.

preliminary report

I love the options these come with, they suite my needs perfectly (so they aren't going to be replaced anytime soon). at 3500rpm and below they have a low pitch hummm (all the way to thier minimum speed), right now I have the cpu fan @ 2900 rpm
my two rear fans @ ~2000rpm each (I don't have enough fan headers on my mobo 1 is reading 2000rpm, the other is set to approx the same speed)
my side fan is set with the thermister, and righ now is at 1375rpm

my temps dropped from 53C cpu to 46C (full load running F@H client)
my case temps (north bridge) are down from 50C to 43C.

both are after ~45min. run time (peaked out and hasn't changed for 10min.)

dba guestimations per fan 1350rpm ~ 26-28db at 3000rpm ~ 36-38db at 4800rpm ~65-67db

as summer approaches I relish the fact that I will simply have to crank up the speed (and noise) to keep from having to reduce my OC.

in hindsight, I probably should have just saved up another $40 and upgraded my case to a mid-range antec with 120mm fans, but oh well.

Cheers

"Fanspeed controller, people. " They are nice, but most are too gaudy for my case. I have a simple maxtop case,
