OK, I'm still playing the BF2 Demo. I'm not willing to buy the full version of the game for this exact reason. When I load the map, not immidiately, but soon enough, the game will start freezing for about 10 seconds. Sometimes this happens only once a minute, or it can happen as soon as every 10 secs. The thing is, after the 10 secs are over, the game resumes.
Those 10 secs are usually crucial. If I'm in a plane, I've most likely crashed. If I'm aiming at someone, I've most likely lost them.
This is really starting to annoy me. I have the latest drivers for my video card and stuff.
