So I was talking to this BBC reporter the other day who had been to Iraq plenty times. His
opinion is that most soldiers who arent "brainwashed" (his own words) otherwise, believe they are part of a colonial occupation.
He also believes that the US will have to leave Iraq as a military retreat, because the Iraqis are fierce nationalists and would not tolerate US occupation. Therefore this insurgency which he says is just in the "2nd gear".
I agreed with his viewpoints, especially since he said that before the invasion, Saddam had been the problem. After his removal, there is STILL a massive insurgency, and people like Al-Sadr, or Zarqawi, who were nobodies suddenly emerge to take the place of Saddam as the problem to a free Iraq.
