my friend has the fm transmitter, and the sound is like crap (worse than radio)

Verah nice, verah nice. I'm just wondering when we'll start having seamless integration for ALL MP3 players... Sigh.. Unfortunately, not all MP3 players were created equal *tear*

well its gotta be a 3 series of 2001 or newer, so that kinda narrows it down just a bit?

you can't have lossy compression and somehow get cd quality sound out of it.

True. But I am comparing it vs radio, and this is better than radio. I also burn mp3s to cd all the time, and the sound came out exatcly like if I burn the mp3 to a cd first..

He could encode using lossless.

Yes it's completely different from AAC, it cames with iTunes 4.5 if I'm correct. A little less efficient than FLAC from what I've heard.

Pretty sure you can do this if you don't mind running a length of wire to your head unit, and you purchase a head unit with a line in. Your DAP would need a line out too, I think...? Or would the headphone jack work? Not sure on that.

yep this would pretty much work (or any aux input will work)

but what I like about this ipod/bmw one is how I can change songs using the steering wheel...
