I got my friend to let me borrow Command and Conquer (the very first one) and I was all excited. Then I try to install it but it was made for Win 95 or DOS so it won't install on XP.

Is there a way to get it to work? Like some emulator I can use? Pleaseeeeeee??

First of all, WRONG FORUM.

Second of all, if you don't know how to use the built-in Win9x/ME/NT/2k emulator in Windows XP, maybe you should do your homework first. :)

in XP you can run things in "compatibility mode" by right clicking on the program. It only works some of the time, though.

Try running it from the command prompt, too.

NOPE! :| It still doesn't work...a black screen loads and then just quits to the desktop.

I started a thread with the very same issue a week or two ago, in the software section. See if you can find it there. In addition to compatibility mode, you have to replace one file.

"Note: The very original C&C - i.e. the DOS version - will NOT work in Windows. You must use C&C95, also called C&C Gold, to be able to play under Windows XP."
