In regards to that Platinum card - I was doing the money room at Staples on Saturday and I found a coupon from Amex for Platinum card holders only - $300 off any $300 purchase - it was partially due to "points" built up from spending at Staples but in my year at Staples I have never seen a $300 off $300 coupon.

$20 says theres a membership rewards points renewal to get that $300.
