Started with just the 1TB Black as boot drive till I started with SSDs, then added a second black for more space / bit of redundancy. Today I just got two 3TB Greens. :-D

Other than the power cable barely being long enough to connect my SSD without moving the DVDRW to a lower slot, all went well.

So when I set up the drives in windows, it asked me if I wanted simple, striped, mirrored or spanned. I was curious about spanned, but it would seemingly not allow me to utilize the full 6TB in a single volume.

The maximum available would just stay at whatever 2.7TB or so regardless if I added both disks.

Is this a limitation of some kind or am I just doing it totally wrong? I don't particularly mind having two simple volumes but heh, wonder why it won't span both disks.

Nevermind. I made it a spanned volume and it really did create a single 6TB volume.

Just make sure that you have backups, because if one drive dies you loose all your data.

Good point. I plan on getting some external drives to make extra copies of stuff I don't want to lose. A lot of that is already on flash drives though.
