Well it finally happened. I turned 21. Although not how I had pictured (or hoped, for the most part) that it would be, it's none-the-less cool.

Not much more than a year and a half or so ago, I had a steady paycheck and lots of extra money out of each one, no serious relationship, a best friend I never thought I would lose, and a nice car I was really happy with. Fast forward to now, and I am a pizza delivery boy that doesn't have a vehicle that I can drive although I own two. And even though I now have an amazing girlfriend that I have been with for over a year, I have a "best friend" who won't go on my 21st birthday weekend getaway because he doesn't like my girlfriend (although he is the one who pretty much hooked us up).

But still, I went out and at about 12:15am(ish), made my first liquor purchase. It wasn't thrilling like my best friend and I had imagined, I didn't feel like any more of a man, and I wasn't suddenly a stud. But it was still cool in my own little world :p

But I do get one thing I wanted: a celebration. This weekend, my brother, a good friend of mine, and my girlfriend are all going bar hopping at my brothers in Iowa (I live in Illinois). As one of his presents to me, my brother is footing the bill, housing everyone, and giving us all a fresh, home made breakfast the next morning.

But anyway, that's my spiel. Good night all!!

Cliffs:
1) 1 1/2 yrs ago I had money and a best friend.
2) Fast forward to now: Amazing girlfriend but no best friend because he doesn't like g/f although he hooked us up.
3) I bought liquor.
4) Free drinking for me and my closest this weekend with brother.
5) Yay!

It only gets worse from here, might as well end it here. Don't drink and drive, or call people to pick you up when you're drunk. Wear a seatbelt.

I had a job at a local Technology company starting as a PC Tech, and moving later to a Sales Rep. I got fired from that job for two reasons: 1) I didn't obey every single rule and 2) The owner not only didn't like me, but (and many that worked there agreed) ran the place way, way to up-tight. And just before I lost that job, I re-newed my Cell Phone contract and bought two new phones on my shiny new credit card (along with a couple other things :S). So bills went up slightly...not much, but a bit. After I lost that job, I went from job to job for a few months finally settling on the Delivery job because I am making enough money to not only support myself and partially the g/f, but save (albeit slowly...) some money so I can fix my vehicles and have that extra "cushion" of money there. I may not be making as much as I was, but I have more free time and can bring my g/f to work with me :).

Glad I don't live in the same town and buy pizza there. Their "White Pizza" might not be what you were expecting....

grats and climbing that last hurdle... just remember tho, while you can vote, fight in a war and drink legally, you still can't rent a car ;)

My grandson is 23. I was buried with a laptop, and a really good wifi router.
To the OP, It's all downhill from here. The clock will now start running faster, and faster!
You will find yourself asking, didn't I just have a birthday? or didn't I just take the christmas lights down!

Not quite...I posted that message pretty much right when I got home from the bar. Within 2 hours, my friend made me have 4 beers and just as many shots. Like I said, I was doing pretty good lol

strip club

I went to my strip club years ago for my 18th birthday, so (although it still has appeal), it's not quite what it once was...
