yay! i finally got my nomad :)

well initially i wanted the nomad ii, becuz it had the wired remote & fm tuner, but the guy whom i was trying to buy it from on half.com d!cked me by cancelling my order (3 times). then he pulled the nomad an posted it on amazon & yahoo shopping for $10 more. so i said screw him. i bought the nomad iic instead becuz it was $30 cheaper and i this other guy didn't rape my on shipping. damn, this thing puts out some nice tunes. anyone who is looking for a portable non-dics mp3 player... i recommend the nomad iic (ii is ok too if u can don't mind paying a little more). another cool thing about the nomad ii series of mp3 players is that it used smartmedia cards, which are relatively cheap. just a note tho... it only supports up to 128mb smartmedia (firmware upgrade might be necessary). anyway... this thing is coolio

heh, thats why i got it... work out music. i couldn't find the smartmedia card slot at first, and i didn't wanna go sticking the sm card in where ever... good thing i found the manual online.

No. It's a tiny one with 128MB SD card support.

Does that model have a built in FM radio? I've been thinking one day if I ever get a job I'll get myself an mp3 player that has a radio built in. I was considering buying the SlimX but I want something tiny so I figured I'd get a compactflash/smartmedia based system like the nomad.

Hey! I just got my first MD player. I got the Sony NetMD MZ-N707.

I WAS gonna get a mp3 player, but I found out that MD is better.

B4 MD, I was using a Rio 300.

Good job Spanky, you beat me to it! I was looking for one also, and ended up ordering the Nomad IIMG with built in FM tuner. It comes standard with 64 megs. I'll let you know how well it works when I get it.

i wanted to get the nomad ii, but the guy i was buying it off of from half.com d!cked me. he kept cancelling my order (three times) saing something was up with my credit card. i called up my credit card company, and they said there were no attempts to charge. i re-entered my credit card info... same thing. tried a different credit card. cancelled again. i search for the nomad at half.com again, but it's not there. i look for nomads in amazon and yahoo shopping, and the same guy is selling nomads there for $10 more. so i said to hell with him. i found another guy on half.com selling the nomad iic for $30 less, so i decided "i could live without the fm tuner & wired remote for $30 saved". but if i was't a cheap ass... i'd get the nomad iic

the mg is nice. it looks slick again, i'm cheap... so i went with the barebones nomad iic.
