After my parents made so much money off of selling their current house, they decided they wanted to invest in some property here in Panama City while they were finishing their last tour of duty. My step father only needs 3 more years in the Air Force and then he can retire, my mom is at 23 years and can pretty much get out when he hits 20 years. So basically they're going to move back or use the house as a vacation home. Until then, they said that I could rent whatever property they buy.

I spotted this nice little place while making some deliveries, and it's awesome; 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, nice tile and real hardwood cabinets - it's being built by a doctor for his daughter, and she was going to rent out the adjacent townhouse (we're purchasing the one on the right). Well, his daughter was just proposed to, so her and her fiance are looking for a bigger house - the father just decided to finich the place and sell it. We bought the side she was going to live in, just because it had some really nice personal touches (the real wood cabinets, nicer tile, better light fixtures, lowered crown molding with lights on the inside, and a doggy door in the rear). It has a total of 1262 square ft, and the seller wanted 124k for it. :Q We snapped at the offer, and bought the place this evening.

The house is sheduled to be finished in about two weeks, then I move it while my parents move NC and I start paying them $500 a month for it :) Not a bad deal if I say so myself :)

NICE buy dude!

124k ONLY?! wtf?!

DUDE a simple 3bed house in England is £200k ~ $330k in my area.

I'd LOVE to get a cheap place but in England and my area house prices are really high:(. Sucks really.

How about the jobs in your area? I'm only 30min away from London though.

Looks like a great house and can't believe the price you got!

Just mostly tourism, but we've been experiencing a huge economic boom in the past 5 years (Wait, isn't everyone saying that bush ruined the economy, what am I saying>!??!!?! ). Hell, I just deliver pizzas and go to college, and for 500 bucks a month, I couldn't pass on my parents offer :p

I SO need to move to the states!

It'll take me years and years to save for a house that is tiny compared to the houses in your area!

Looks like a good house and sounds like a good deal. (although obviously as the more clueless among us have learned, house prices vary *incredibly* based on area and neighborhood)

As for the sister, yow. :) If she ever needs a place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale...

Something is definitly wrong here, unless your house has tonnes of underlying damage, was built on a toxic waste dump, or is located in the middle of the ghetto with a crack house next door.
