Yay for me...a new mile and a half PR

i finally was able to get under 7 minutes...6:58 to be exact. so many times ive been a few seconds over, it feels good to finally break through.

i know we have a lot of runners here, does anyone run in college or other competitions, or do you mainly run for fun? an ATOT 5k would be sweet.

Yes - ATOT 5k sounds like a good idea.

Congrats on breaking the 7minute barrier.. its a great feeling. I used to run regularly... my best was a 5k race in just under 23 mins...

EDIT: nevermind - just re-read - 1.5 miles at 7mins is AWESOME... I could get near 6 mins for 1 mile, but couldn't sustain that pace for a full race...

ATOT 5k would be hilarious. it would be a great get together, you dont even have to race, just stand around and drink  while others run. 😀

4:38 mile pace? Dayum, you are fast! I think I could probably run about 8 minutes for 1.5 miles. Maybe 7.5ish. So the legs better?

yep, the leg is all healed up. 😱. i had to sit out about 8 months, i finally started to get back into the swing of things...damn tumors :| (scariest part of my life waiting for results on whether tumor was malignent or benign). but yeah, this was a time trial. we have our indoor conference meet coming up soon and i will probably be racing the half mile (800M).

btw, nice sig

8 months, damn. That would kill me. I was out almost 6 months a few years ago when I got ITBS and I nearly went insane. I'm making up for it now though; ran every single day since January. Good luck in your upcoming meets.

what exactly is ITBS? 😕

Ilio-Tibial Band syndrome. It's a band that runs down the side of your leg from your hip to knee. Mine got inflamed, and it's nearly incapacitating. It still bothers me from time to time but not as bad. It's definitely one of the worst pains a runner can feel. I could not run, at all. Could barely walk. It was very depressing.
