So I had a tooth filled about 3 months ago. Ever since it was filled, it just didn't feel right. It was way too sensitive, and tasted weird. I had went back to the dentist a month after it was filled, and he said everything was perfect.
So, about two weeks ago, I get a searing pain in the tooth, and try to ignore it and write it off as "normal". Well, a few days ago, it started to get worse and worse, to the point where I couldn't even sleep. So this morning I get an emergency dentist appointment with my dad's dentist.
He looks at it and says that it is abscessed, and will need to get a root canal. So he refers me to an endodontist that he knows. I get an emergency appointment there a little later, and he takes an x-ray. At this point all I am in so much pain that all I want is for the tooth the be yanked.
The endodontist looks at my x-ray and says that he would not yank it because I have very good bone structure in my jaw, and my teeth are perfectly positions. He explained that if he pulled the tooth, it would cause me teeth to migrate. The problem at this point is I am only going to be home for a few more house because I was home for the weekend from school. He says that he can't do it in one sitting, and that he wont be able to come in on the weekend.
He then calls his friend up that is near my school, and he refers me to another endodontist up here. My tooth is in so much pain I ask if the doctor could do anything. He said that he could open the tooth up to relieve the pressure. So I get back in to the chair, and he begins drilling. Once he opens up, he pushes on my swollen palette, and out comes the puss, and instant pain relief.
Now tomorrow I get to go to a doctor up at school to do the actual root canal, yay. At least I get some vicodin, but it doesn't seem to do anything for me.
Cliffnots:
- Dentist filled my tooth and fvcked up
- I complained, he said everything is fine
- 2 weeks ago, tooth starts hurting like a bitch
- Today I finally go to a dentist since I was home for the weekend
- Sends me to an endodontist who says it is abscessed, and needs a root canal.
- Tooth hurts so much that he opens it up to relieve pressure
- Going for the full procedure tomorrow.
- I got vicodin and Clindamycin.
