well last night I went outside to test the lights on our hyundai, because I had noticed that one of them had gone out the other day, so i wanted to check and see if any others were out. While out there, I put it in neutral, with the ebrake engaged, and let off the foot brake to go check the tailights. The car slid forward, and since i was partly out of it I could not slam on the brakes quickly enough. I broadsided our garage door and it is now severely damaged...

This is going to cost a lot of money to fix, money that I do not have, and my mom doesn't have at the moment. I will try to find a way to pay, but most likely that will involve selling my computer, my stereo, and most of my other possessions(i have to keep the car, no matter what).

If you have a few dollars sitting in paypal, or if you can donate Anything at all, it would be greatly appreciated...

Edit: Link Removed.

Uh, his breaks are fine. Did you read the post? He only hit the garage when he let up off his breaks. Time to maybe tighten the emergency break?

The emergency brake runs off the rear brakes, mechanically only. so if his rear brakes are not right, he needs to get them checked out. yes tightening the emergency brake line is part of that.

And for the guy who asked what I have for sale, check the FS forum, ive got a decent sized list of crap that was going to go towards funding modifications and fixups for my own car...but it seems that all that money will now be going towards this

*sigh*

The door can't cost more than $1000?

How much is your car/home insurance deductible?

It was an honest mistake, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you don't want insurance to cover it, check with your bank about taking out a small home-improvement loan to take care of it.
