I think they should go ahead and sell them at a bigger loss, and sell the cheap one at $150. That would get them a large installed base pretty quickly.
I won't buy one at $300 or $360, but I might finally buy the first gen XBox if they drop the price when the new one comes out.

I'm going to wait.
I'm sure it will come out in the Fall and it will sell out and then people will start to jack up the prices and then there will be a short supply and when they restock christmas will be around the corner and it will be the hot tech toy for the season.

I missed the preview last night and haven't read anything as of yet but will it be backwards compatable with older games? If it is going to play my current XBOX titles then I have no problems upgrading.

I would if the price were right. Unfortunately it won't be. If it came out at $199.99 I would get one but the fact that the games stay at $50 for months or years after being released is why I won't spend more for the console.

The Jury is still out on being backwards compatible.
no one knows for sure.
