I just ordered a set of logitech x-530's, and some stands so they will actually be in the right positions behind me. I'm an audiophile, well, I try my best, but that's a whole nother story 🙂. the point is, would I see a difference in sound quality between my audigy 2 zs, and the basic x-fi card when running on the x-530's. I'm running a messed up 4.1 system right now, (hissy altec lansing's, vs2121's front, vs2120's on the side, for lack of rear stands).

EDIT: oh yeah, I should probably tell you what I do with it. I listen to 44khz, 16-bit, 1411kbps ripped cd's (can't stand even the highest quality mp3's), and I play half-life 2 mainly, and other games occasionally. I will also watch movies.

If you're an audiophile, save the money used for the card, return those speakers and get a Klipsch 5.1 set, Z-5500 at the least.

I got the audigy 2 zs $35 AR and logitech 5300e speakers (5.1 280w 560w peak) for $110 refurbished. I'm extremely happy with the quality and the savings.

X-fi, only if you have ULTRA HIGH END home theater speakers hooked up.

Okay, thanks. If I do get x-fi, it will be around christmas (I will ask people for it 😀). I could barely afford the x-530's + stands, so I can't really get more powerful speakers right now. thanks.

EDIT: had a good deal too, x-530's $47 + shipping, stands $25 free shipping.

EDIT 2: can't wait for better speakers either, my sister's been bugging me to get her the vs2121's for her desktop (she only has headphones), and the vs2120's for her laptop (the internal speakers are teh suxxorz). Thanks again guys.
