I'm getting my new machine. (finally) But now that the new Core 2 Dou chips from Intel have come out I'm not sure which would be the better buy. Now I know most benchmarks are showing that the X6800 is much faster than anything AMD has. But I don't have $1k to spend on just the processor.
Here's the systems I'm trying to decide between.....

Same for both systems
Corsair XMS2 (2x 1GB) DDR2 memory
Seagate 7200.10 250GB SATA hard drive
eVGA GeForce 7950GT 512MB graphics card
Antec SmartPower 500watt PSU <= already have
2x NEC ND-3550 DVD+/-RW drive <= already have
and a sexy SilverStone Black TJ04 aluminum case

Intel System:
Core 2 E6600 CPU - 2.4GHz
Asus P5B-E mobo

AMD System
X2 4600+ Socket AM2 2.4GHz -65watt version CPU
Asus M2N-E mobo

Both systems run at roughly the same clock speed though the Intel system is $127 more expensive. Anyone have any suggestions or know where I can find benchmarks comparing these 2 CPUs?
