Yes. Working out jacks up your metabolism sky high. Not to mention your body is burning calories faster since your body needs the protein/nutrients to grow.
BTW, that Max OT training is the $hit. Been doing it since the summer. I've fallen off the track so to speak and switched over to the 3 day Max OT split (I believe it's in Week 7 or 8 that they describe the 3 day split) because I've gotten lazy but it's the best program I've ever been on.

Yea...I am loving it. I am finishing week 5 today, and I start the 3 day split next week. I probably wont keep the 3 day program for now, but closer to the summer I am gonna combine 2 days of Max OT Cardio with the 3 day split.

Im not at all...I've basically just been taking in about 40 grams of protein before and after my workouts via a Whey supplement. That's it. Nothing else.

I was following it as closely as I could during the summer. Since then I've had to cut back on my spending so my protein habit was scaled back. I made great gains when following the nutritional guidelines. However, AST's brand of products that they push on Max OT is just far too overpriced though. Sp33ddem0n is the one who originally got me onto the program (I'll assume he got you on it too?) so he knows a lot more about it than I do.
