I haven't worn a watch in probably 3 years, though I'm considering it again, just because I am bored.
Seiko looks like a good value, though I really don't want to spend on the fancy kinetics, and the styling of the 5's leaves me blah - The first watch on this page is my current top pick, though photos from elsewhere suggest that this is a flattering photo of this model. It's dressy, sporty, sleek - not clunky, and the style looks to me like it will age well.
Of course I headed to overstock.com, and while they didn't have anything in my price range that jumped out at me, there were some really nice ~$1K looking watches. It struck me, however, that by the time many people can afford these intricately designed watches, they probably won't be able to read any of the lettering without a magnifying glass.
Anyhow, one particular model left me wondering .. do people who can afford this sort of thinggenerally shop at overstock.com?
