Yet Another Workin out Thread... 😱

is there nothing else you can other than alternating sit-ups and running to burn ab fat? theres no way i wanna stop drinking beer but my 'gut' (not really big at all, but not flat) is the only part of me that isnt lean and it looks pretty dumb... :|

walking is the best way of burning fat / calories off. If you can't cut back the :beer:age, then try cutting back the fatty foods, or swap to spirits (especially white ones I think) as they have less calories and additives etc

Forget the situps, get off your ass and walk/run/bike/whatever.

does biking actually burn ab fat? i used to do a lot of biking this summer but gave it up for running cause i felt i wasnt getting good enough of a workout...

any calorie burning or dieting will get rid of fat in layers all around your body, eventually getting your stomach down (along with the rest)

Impossible then. The reason beer drinkers get a beer gut is because the liver has to break down the alcohol, some of which then gets stored as fat closest to the liver (your abdomen).

Swtich to vodka or something or drink lite beer which still messes you up. Like miller lite has really low calories. The other way to go is drink vodka or do what we do sometimes. Get a bottle of grain and a beer. Drop the shot of grain in the beer and chug. Thats it. 1 shot. Takes 5 min to do, low cal, and gets you retarded for many many hours

"Is this thing on? Ahem. Hello"

I can speak volumes on this. How and why? Here you go.

Dude. How'd you do that? :Q

1. Reduce alcohol intake by 99%. Went from 3-4 beers a day to maybe 2 per WEEK...haven't had a beer in almost 2.5 weeks now.
2. Run 3.5-3.75 miles a day, six days a week.
3. Do as many situps as you can...rest for a minute and do as many as you can again.
4. Eat normal, regular meals, containing vegetables as well as meat.
5. Salad with every lunch and dinner. Meaning: lettuce, cumcumber, tomato, peppers. No ham, cheese and pizza on top of the salad.

Cut alcohol intake. Eat right. Excercise. There is no other way.

If you don't want to stop or drastically cut down your drinking, you will not lose weight. Once you pass 30, it's literally impossible to lose weight while drinking the same amount of alcohol no matter how much you exercise. 🙁

Now put that beer down and get your fat ass to the gym. 😛

It's low CARBS, not low calories.

Everclear has 190 calories per oz.

Let's see, you want to get rid of the beer gut, but you don't want to give up beer... How about decreasing intake of total calories and exercising?

I know its the carbs but a lot of it is in the calories cause there basically empty calories. What im saing is though, drink one shot of everclear (which is a little below grain) with a beer and bam you good forthe night unlike me and my friend going shot for shot and finishing captain morgan bottles then going out

hmm. so spirits aren't filled w/carbs? how come atkins + south beach suggest that you not drink them?

As I say always, doing ab work is a miniscule amount of how one's belly looks. It's almost entirely fat based. You need to lose weight, and you can do it by restricting calories and doing cardio. You can drink beer and lose weight, but they are conflicting efforts, and I won't pretend that ceasing beer drinking wouldn't help a lot. Unfortunately if you plan on drinking beer each night and sucking back half a pizza you're not going to lose weight, so learn to live with, and enjoy, that belly of yours.

The calories in alcohol are neither fat, protein, or carbs, AFAIK, but they are still calories and your body still sees them as some sort of energy source. I don't totally understand it, but I will say that a low carb beer with a few grams of carbs is still getting 85 calories from somewhere, and it ain't fat or protein.

whoa didnt expect so much input...awesome! 🙂

just for the record, before i read all the posts, im not fat or anything like im 5'11, 170 lbs (i just got the feeling ppl thought i was overweight or something)

hmm ok so well basically i dont even drink that much beer, id say 2 40s and 4 pitchers a week really, one 40 of colt before goin to the bar and a couple pitchers at the bar... but i do eat a lot of "healthy" junk food, like subs and pitas, basically because i can get them on my uni meal card and i dont really have a lot of extra cash to go grocerie shopping these days...

but i read every post and will try to work somethin out along the lines of eat properly and excercise more! 🙂

Lots of spirits have a lot of sugar, giving it the carbs

I did some research on this and found the "healthiest" thing to drink is vodka and diet tonics. Problem is, when you drink about 8 of them like I do in a night... it kind of cancels out the point 😕

5' 11" 170lb is a nice size. Im 5' 11" 175-180 and this is my ideal weight. I do work out but you dont want to go any lighter. You need some weight so your body can handle the lifting if you plan on going to the gym.

BTW I drink a lot heavier than you and still am cut

You realize you are consuming around an extra 44,000 calories a week from beer?

40 + 40 + 4(64) = 336oz * 130 (calories) = just shy of 44,000 calories.
