I have some protein shake mix that I purchased quite some time ago. I never got around to opening it up and actually forgot about it when I started working out again back in December (used to be real into bodybuilding...now I'm slowly working myself back into it).

It was never opened, meaning it's been sealed since purchase...it actually doesn't have an EXP date, just a date of 12/05 which I could only assume is an EXP date (I purchased this in 2003 or 2004).

So...what do you all think? I opened it up...smells fine....looks fine...

Why not? It always tastes nasty as sh!t, won't taste any nastier if it's a year older than it should be...
Banana Shake Muscle Milk RTD is about the only protein mix I can stomach; I tried both the Gladiator and the Hulk at Smoothie King and they made me feel ill about 15 minutes after drinking them.

Ive used some pretty old (1yr+) mix that tasted fine- whey protien. Did not taste any different than the stuff I replaced it with when I ran out.

Usually you can use it much longer than that, however it may not taste as fresh. It will last a long time if its unopened and hasn't been exposed to humidity etc. If bacteria is having a field day with it, you'll generally know by smelling it, but usually its too dry for that to happen.

That's what I thought...since it was sealed...and I've always kept my stuff in a cool & dry place...

I tried some...tasted just like I remembered...didn't do anything to me either...seems ok!
