YAWT: Company offers me chance to branch out...

So, some of you may know i've had a LOT of problems with my VP and we have many, many falling outs and stuff...so now the company is proposing i not be managed by him but branch out from Engineering. So, i'd be in charge of IT, part of Engineering but not totally managed by the VP.

Thing is i will be answerable if sh1t breaks and i need to stand on my own regarding all IT issues. Hell, i feel i do most of that already since when crap comes around he hounds me for answers anyways. What do u guys think?
