Continued from this thread.
Well im in another predicament, and i have asked my parents and they are not sure anymore. But they think i should still work my shift.
I got mad. And by getting mad; to get my point across i wrote a note at the bottom of an availability sheet, made 20 copies, turned 10 copies into the manager and kept the other 10 in case she loses the first 10 (which isn't as improbably as you might think). In the note, i was very professional, and very respectful, yet direct with my point that i refuse to flex my hours and blow off my prior commitments any longer.
So first off, i am scheduled tomorrow despite all of this. I have talked with the GM 5 different times, i have turned in 6 (+10) of the same availability sheet. I have talked with that manager. Nonw i am out of options. I have a commitment tomorrow, but it is rearrangeable. I am one of those people who, unless pushed beyond the breaking point, cannot be openly rude and disobedient. So the strongest statement i can make is to simply call out tomorrow. What do you think i should do here?
Next off, next week is Christmas week. The same oblivious Personnel Manager came to me and asked me if i was going to open up my availability. I said, "Ill try and see what i can do and then ill get back to you ASAP". Now in my head i was thinking, like hell am i bending at all until she can show me that she can abide by my current availability set.
Furthermore, i said that, under no circumstances, can i close Christmas eve. I said i would like either an early shift or, if that isn't enough, schedule me from open (7:00) to 4:00PM. But i would not be available to close (6:00) that day. (I am singing in the 5:30 church service and need time to go home, shower, get changed and drive to church)
So i go in there today, and lo and behold, not only do i work from 10:00AM-6:30PM on X-Mas eve, but i am also working 35 other hours that week, only 2 of which are even remotely close to my availability set.
Is there something else i can be doing here? Am i being too nice?
Im seriously considering drafting my 2 weeks notice and turning it in on Christmas eve.
