The majority of PvP types are 12 and think rp is "4 dumyz, ololololo". No offense, just talking numbers here.

such bs man.. where do you get these worthless statistics...

most of the people I know that play PVP are men and women ages 19-45...
we do it becasue we like the added danger and challenge knowing there could be horde around the next corner...

nothing ruins a game more than being able to stand across from "the enemy" and wave at them while they pick daisies.... might as well play toon town online.

and yes I know there are peeps on the non pvp server that try to stay pvp flagged at all times.... the problem isnt those peeps its that 3/4 of the population dont.. making it a very boring end game

Sorry - no offense was intended. I know a lot of normal people prefer PvP, not putting anyone down for it or anything. However, as I said, I'm talking numbers here. When young Timmy is going to make the world pay because his mommy and daddy were mean enough to not buy him that ipod he so desperately wanted because it would have helped him fit in at school, and he's picking a server, which do you think he goes for? That's right, the one where he can sit around "pwn1ng" people by ganking & corpse-camping them. That type represents the majority age/mindset on PvP servers. They even participate in the namecalling typical of that age range; those not on PvP servers are "carebears". In EQ the 4 (out of ~50) pvp servers acted as filters, allowing the rest of us to enjoy much friendlier and more mature company.

Have you even played PVP? I am 28 and play PVP with alot of older people and we seem to have alot of fun. I could sit here a type and BIG list of reasons your wrong...but gotta get ready for work.

I would say just try pvp....my experience has been nothing like your talking about.

Yep, I've tried a few characters on Rallos & Sullon in EQ. Not sure why people are having trouble with the concept that I'm not putting them down personally whatsoever. In fact I think the OP is a great guy & deserves elite status.

Think of it this way, let's imagine we pour equal amounts of clean, clear water (normal people) into two glasses. Label one glass PvE and the other PvP. Now take a huge cup of dirt (idiots, "1337 k1dz", posturing preteens, etc), sprinkle a tiny bit in the PvE glass and dump the rest in the PvP glass. Which glass would you rather drink? It's a good analogy as most of that type choose PvP, though there is still plenty of clean water in the mix.

How are you not putting them down... you havent even tried WoW PVP servers..
there is a differnece between EQ and WOW.. EQ has to be turned into a PVP game.. WoW was a PVP game since design....

WoW is mostly the older generation of gamers Ive seen so far...
most of the hardcore PVP teengankers are still playing ShadowBane and Lineage2 where they can actually hurt your character....

in WoW PVP is designed to be painless on purpose... to encourage it more...
and it does add a bit mroe dynamic danger that the game itself cannot provide.. you never know when you land in Eastern Plaguelands if there is going to be a Horde Gank party waiting for you on landing.. same in Booty Bay or Gadgetzan...
Big deal if you loose and get a free trip to the grave yard.. all youve lost is a lil pride having to slink back to your body..

EQ and DOAC pvp servers were flat out Gay... I would never have played with those retards... level 50s in DAOC traveling in packs of 20 ganking level 10s just becasue you can...
EQ entire enemy guilds camping key exp spots and corpse camping and taking your items...

WoW is not the same in design or player mentality... you die so what... pick your butt up heal and either escape or call for friends to help you...

but for you to generalize an entire game segment based on previous game designs without having tried it yourself is just dumb...

Ive played both WoW blue and PVP servers in beta and release...
the PVP server is a much fuller experience and is the way the devs wanted warcraft experienced...
this is not a friendly world... horde and alllaince detest each other its an all out war.. they dont want you running up and hugging a tauran warrior if your a gnome...

as I said before the average age on Gorefiend seems to be around 24... there are a few younger peeps but the majority seem to be either mid 20s college students to early to mid 30s professionals with families...
there are quite a few older than 40 players as well...

I have, though not for very long - it was a gankfest. I'm not putting pvper's down becuase I'm allowing for the fact that a lot of regular people prefer to be on a PvP server. All I'm saying is that the majority of the people I don't want to associate with choose pvp over pve.
for you to generalize an entire game segment
That's just it - I'm not.

I never claimed otherwise. Only that of the segment I dislike, most choose pvp. Said nothing about the segment I do like - that segment seems pretty evenly distributed.

There are still tons of teeny bopper idiots in PvE. I don't think it's valid to assume that the major difference is age. On bronzebeard almost every single day there are two horde people who have some incredibly lame name like badgey that come to various starter areas of the alliance and just pick fights left and right. That alone is not too bad. However, after they pick on everyone, they then log in with alliance characters and talk d00dspeak trash to everyone.

I for one find this a lot more objectionable than ganking people in a contested area.

the unofficial PvP RP server is Bleeding Hollow

I don't know how they decided that, but when they did the population jumped up like crazy
