YAWowT: Servers down for 24 hours

Good thing I was not planning on playing much last night. Have characters on two servers Elune and Duortan and they are 2 of the 20+ servers that as of 8AM EST are still down.

On the plus side, I was able to go buy and assemble a new vacuum to make my wife happy due to the outage.

Wonder if they will be up by 9PM tonight when I get back home.

For lack of anything better to do, me and a friend started characters on Scarlet Crusade (an RP server) last night. I think we actually had more fun doing that than playing our normal characters.

The newbie zone was absolutly packed with people from the downed servers. I haven't seen them that busy since first day of retail. We were running around half-assedly RPing (speaking some odd mixture of Elizabethian english, pirate talk, and engrish). Meanwhile the real RPers were getting really pissed at the invasion of their servers. Unfortunately we had to cut it short because we both have tests today that we were supposed to be studying for.

yeah i couldnt play last night, im on sargeras, but it was nice beacuse i caught up on some stuff on my tivo and hung out with the fiancee... heh went to bed early too... hopefully they will be back up tonight though... this is a little crazy...

My main is on Scarlet Crusade, i had to wait in line to log in due to you people. You ruined the RP channel and you made general chat so bad that i had to leave it. All i saw was people not role playing and dueling each other naked. Thanks for ruining our server last night.

I almost feel bad, but if we can deal with our servers being totally down, then you can deal with a queue and naked dueling. Please look at things in their proper perspective.

We were just trying to make the best of a bad situation, and for the record, I was role playing!

What is the RP explanation for how channels and whispers even exist in the first place? Theoretically you should only be able to whisper in a certain very short range and channels should not even exist. Unless all people are given some magic device that lets them communicate in them?

A server with special name rules, for example, you cant be named "Omgwtfbbqpwn" or the mods will get you to change your name. It also encouraged that you to act out your character and not say stuff like (saw this on a normal server) "OMG MY MOMMIE WONT STOP SHOWING ME HER DICK".

Hell no, i dont know where people get this idea from, the NPCs do not talk that way and the players certainly dont. Although, trolls do tend to talk like a stereotypical jamaican.

The game is a role playing game, but people do not usually role play, save on an RP server.
