Nice review but I did know most of this from testing the settings on my own computers.

I find it interesting that the article has been up for a full day and two people were within a minute of each other on posting a link to it.

No real info there, I just think it's interesting.

I re-tuned my settings a bit lastnight based on this article, and think I was able to make the textures and texture transitions look better without impacting performance.

Previous settings:
1600x1200 Most settings maxed:
Terrain distance max
Texture quality medium
LOD checked
Anisotropic middle

New settings:
1600x1200 most settings maxed:
terrain distance middle
texture quality max
LOD un-checked
Anisotropic maxed

No significant difference in frame rates (45-50 in most cases when solo), but it looks nicer to me. I couldn't really tell any difference between terrain distance max and middle, but frame rates get better.

I honestly don't see how anyone could stand to have the full screen glow on. That crap is horrible.

For reference, I have an x800 pro overclocked to 550 core / 525 memory (pretty close to x800XL speeds, a little faster, but not much) and a S754 Newcastle A64 I currently run around 2GHz.
