YAWCYNYTPT: We need a standard for descriptives in thread names

I think all of AT needs to read this on proper subjects/titles. All the repost nazis like to R when another thread with a title of "WOAH!" happens to have the same content as yours. Half the time I can't recall a thread from a few days ago because the thread content was completely disjoint from the subject.

This occurs in pretty much every form of online discourse, but AT is supposed to have a higher collective intellect, so lets not assimilate the qualities of these other rubes! Look at the software forum; a lot of the programming-related threads give no indication of platform, compiler, language, etc.

Since we're all about being abstruse with our thread subjects, I have twopence for whoever figures out what YAWCYNYTPT means.

I think this is especially important in the Hot Deals forum since n00bs tend to:

Not include a price in the thread title
Fail to mention AR (after rebate) or FAR (free after rebate)
Whether it's Dell Home or Dell SB
the list goes on

What can ya do?

Trout smack 'em!

I agree completely.

Generally, I'm pretty good about that.. I get right to the point.

If someone drafted something up, could the mods be persuaded to sticky it?
