I know we have a few solid vw mechanics hanging around here, I already have a post
over at shoptalkforums with a few responses so I am just going to post a link there if
you wouldnt mind checking it out and giving advice.

Here is my VW Baby

Not much engine work done to it, but more exterior stuff. I also took that volkswagen logo off that grille. it's looking nice now 🙂

true but their tech pages consider a 83 rabbit old school, shoptalk is big for vintage vw folks, but its late and I am impatient

I assume you have replaced the air filter some time recent right?

Maybe check to make sure your bypass screw on your carb is adjusted properly?

We'll I've got the carb out of the car, what to do with it now?

Hm... I would've adjusted the bypass screw with the car on and running... did you pick up a carb rebuild kit and some cleaner?
