The other day I had a InfoNotice on my door from UPS that they were trying to deliver a package. I signed the note and put it back on the door. When I got home yesterday the note was still there. So I tracked the InfoNotice number and it said it had been delivered and signed for by somebody named Woodland. I called UPS and told them it wasn't delivered to me and I didn't know anybody in the neighborhood named Woodland, and they told me I had to have the shipper file the claim.

So somebody sent me some wine for Christmas and UPS gave it away to somebody else. They never checked to see why the signer was not the same name as the addressee. Merry Christmas!

UPS tried to deliver 4 packages to me last week -- a new GPS, two packages of DVDs, and a free carrying case for the GPS that got shipped separately. (All coming from Amazon.)

They left the GPS and DVDs in front of my door, but wouldn't leave the free case and I had to go pick it up myself at the UPS distribution center.

I've been lucky that nothing has ever been stolen from my front door. But I can't count the times I have had to make the 35-mile round trip to the distribution center at rush hour to rescue a package. I've had so many problems over the years I learned long ago not to buy anything that will ship UPS, but here somebody is sending me a present. Unfortunately, I don't even know who sent it.

Their online shipping status notification is abysmal as well.

I had a UPS Internal Activity code/exception after three days of hanging around the shipping warehouse and it didn't update until it was delivered.... five days later.

But I guess I got my package (MSI Wind) in decent condition so I can't complain too much.

I wish you could sign up to have your address flagged to ALWAYS require pickup or ALWAYS use special instructions like "Leave on back porch" or "Require ID for all signing".

Luckily the people living in my apartment, while borderline shut-ins, are pretty cool about signing for packages and making sure I get them and such. It's only a 4 person building so I'm not that worried about what happens once something is safely inside, but one guy that is home when UPS usually comes is nice enough to walk my packages upstairs and put them right in front of my door.

This, and other stories is why I always have items shipped to my office, where there is someone to receive it for me if I am out for the day.

Yes, I'd love to be able to do this. But management says no.

My order from monoprice departed the warehouse at 3:31AM on 12/5 and went to "UPS INTERNAL ACTIVITY CODE" in Ontario, California at 7:41AM the same day.

It was originally scheduled to be delivered today but the status hasn't changed. Since it's going from CA to VA, I doubt I'll get it this week.

I have yet to have an issue with UPS :knock on wood:

I don't live in the ghetto so I'm happy when they leave stuff on my porch.

What I was told by the retailer was that it was due to holiday shipping delays... lol
