so i'm getting a westy 37" 1080p monitor in a few days and as most know there is no built in tuner (hence 'monitor' ,not tv)
anywho, i will be using it mostly with my main PC:
a64 4000+
2gb pc3200
10k raptor
6800gt (ATM)
but, i will be using my server to save recored tv...over a 100mb network plenty of storage on that machine...
anywho...here is my cable/air deal:
i get regular cable from comcast (you know, the basic 99channels)
i looked up my HDTV OTA info on that website (cant think of the name, its popular though) and i can get a few HD stations...meh
in the future i might have digital cable from comcast, but it wont be for a 1/2yr or so if i even do
what i want:
i just want to be able to watch regular TV on my PC and be able to pause and record TV like my rent's can with their MOXI (similar to tivo) but i also want to be able to do the same with digital TV in the future, but not have to use the set-top box from comcast.
i would also like to be able to schedule single/season recordings, but i realize this has more to do with software
i dont know much about HDTV and i dont really care that much about high def...i mean, if i can get it, thats cool, but i usually only watch discovery, tlc, a&e...and crap like that, so OTA HD isnt a huge deal to me...
so...all that said, what TV tuner would you peoples reccomend?

i am assuming it is b/c the boxes/cablecards have the nessesary info to decrypt the signal
