YATT (Yet Another Traffic Thread): What's the rudest thing you've seen another driver do?

I was driving home yesterday taking side streets, and there are a couple streets that always gets backed up at least 20 cars or so because of 4-way stops. Before the first 4-way stop is a tiny bit of room to the right, and sometimes people who need to turn right are able to squeeze through, as most of the people in line need to go straight.

Anyway, yesterday I was waiting in line when I saw a Jeep honking its way through the right lane behind me. It had its right turn signal on, and was honking at everyone waiting to go straight, trying to get into the narrow right lane to scoot up to turn right. Out of courtesy, I moved out of his way as did about 15 other cars.

As soon as the Jeep reached the stop sign, instead of turning right, he cut off the car that was waiting to go straight and zipped in front of it. What a d!ck move... the funny thing was, I caught up with him a few stoplights later. He continued to weave in and out of traffic and cut people off.

What's the rudest stunt you've seen another driver pull?

I was going through an intersection which had a left turn lane, straight lane, and a little right turn "island" type thing with a yield sign for right turners. The light was green and the car in front of me had turn on it's right turn signal, then it moved over to the right making every indication that it was going to make the right turn. So I didn't slow down, maybe even went 2-3mph faster b/c of the green light, and all of the sudden this car swerves in front of me, misses me by inches (I had to brake really hard) and this car stops in the LEFT TURN LANE. You can bet I gave him the bird and I woulda thrown in some fists too if I coulda stopped without stopping in the intersection and actually get out of my car. I honked and honked at it too, geez, pissed me off so much.

I saw something similiar to that. I was at a stoplight, and this person goes into the left turn lane. No one else was turning left so they were able to bypass a lot of people waiting to go straight. When the light changed instead of going left, they went straight.

My favorite move is when one lane of traffic (like an exit lane) is backed way up, not moving and someone tries to cut in at the head of the line. These idiots often simply STOP in a lane of traffic that was moving fine before and wait until they can slip into the stopped lane. This ends up causing a huge mess when other drivers have to go around them, slowing the rest of the lanes until there's a huge backup. Doesn't take much in busy traffic, like we see here in Seattle.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for going around the lines and finding a place where I can cut in with minimal impact (like in front of a semi that has a huge space open in front of it), but I don't ever, ever just STOP in traffic and block a line while waiting for a slot to slip into.

These people should have their licenses revoked on the spot. I think the laws with giving out licenses are far too lenient.

3lane road -- one left turn, two straight..Some van pulled from the left turn lane into my lane..I slow down, hit the horn -- then he cuts off a UPS truck in the next right lane..who also hits his horn. No cops around, of course. :(

Edit: Rudest thing..? Someone was *backing up* in the turn lane on a major road here in G'ville..45mph speed limit, and they're freakin' driving backwards.

I can't think of anything outright rude... I watched a chick in a Ford Explorer try to switch lanes without checking her blind spot and run an Altima off the highway (had there not been a shoulder right there, he would have been screwed), but that was just plain fvcking stupid.

I remember when I was driving to work on the 101 freeway and of course, in LA, traffic was a bitch and its always bumper to bumper. There was a truck in front of me that kept on stopping and going fast abruptly. He merges to the lane on the right and rolls down his window and starts yelling at me. He yells, "What are you trying to do? Read my license plate? Is it because your eyes are slant? Stop tailgating!" I was shocked and before I could say anything back, he had already merged to the farthest right lane to exit.
