Yet Another Toilet Seat Thread
rolleye.gif

So this girl at work walks in to the employee bathroom today and starts freaking out because the toilet seat is up. "Who was in here last? Why is the F#@$* toilet seat up, that's F#@$* disgusting, blah blah blah.

I calmly tell her that I don't know who was in there last, and to calm the fvck down. I walk in to the bathroom and put the toilet seat down for her.

Now she has two options,

1. Sit down on the toilet seat that I just put down for her and take a leak, touching her precious, germ barren ass, to the top of the seat that she would have had to touch with her hand to put down, if I were not there.

2. "Hover" over the toilet seat that I just put down for her to take a whiz, negating the act of me putting the seat down at all because she could use the secret woman "Hover" technique to "Hover" over the whole damn bowl in the damn first place!!!!

We need to start a secret squad of men to travel the world and exterminate all traces of toilet seats, so as too piss women off, by giving them one less thing to BITCH about!!

That is all :(

She should be happy the seat was up. That means it didn't get a personal rinse from somebody....

I've told them that before. If they keep bitching, I'll start pissing with the seat down!

yeh, that's kinda an issue.

I don't get it.

We're expected to put it up when we start, and back down when we're down.

Why? Why should we have to do both, and if a woman has to do one, all hell breaks loose? Its ridiculous. I'm gonna start complaining everytime I see a woman leave the seat down.

I hope you're joking.

Does it take too much effort for you to put the seat UP when you're done?

You never did explain why its such a big deal. I don't even think about it if I see it down.

Thank you. That would be really interesting to see a woman put the seat up when she's done. It'd definitely put you at the top of my 'good' list.

For me, it's not a question of effort. It's just that I cannot fathom the basis for this ongoing argument. Who can we blame for starting it, and how did this concept become so ingrained in female America? Who ordained that the natural at-rest position of a toilet is with the seat down? If anything, it would be with the seat and lid down, but I never hear anyone complaining about the lid being open. Seat up or down -- what's the difference?

Is it a courtesy thing? Is putting the toilet seat down for a woman's convenience the last vestige of chivalry in our society? Is it because of germs or general ickiness? Surely there must be some logical reason for such widespread behavior.

I remember one woman in particular complaining about her husband leaving the toilet seat up. She said that, if he left it up, she would go to sit down for a pee and fall into the toilet. Right. Everyone suggested she learn to look before plopping her ass down on the toilet. It's not difficult. I thought we all learned proper potty use as toddlers.

My solution? I just close the thing when I leave the bathroom. That way, the room looks more attractive because there's no gaping maw of biological waste disposal dominating the view. As a bonus, no one ever complains about having the toilet in a less-than-optimal position for seated urination. Why having the lid closed is any different, as far as effort is concerned, than having the seat up, I'll never know.

exactly how is it rude or lacking manners to leave a fvcking toilet seat down? you put your filthy ass on it, so why does it matter which position it is in? no one wants to touch it, but women are just fvcking pansies and expect the guys to do the dirty work for them. you want it down when you get in there and leave it down when you are finished, but we have to touch it after you put your skank ass on it to take a dump or bleed while you piss. is that fun for us? hell no.

personally, i dont see how you can even say this has anything to do with manners. let me guess, i am a stupid immature guy that doesnt know anything, right?

well, i may be an ass, but that has nothing to do with a toilet seat
