but if I run a trace route and it dies after the second hop and continues dying past that all the way up to 10 hops, what benefit is there to running it out to 30 hops?
My corporate help desk just asked me to run a trace route out to 30 hops because I limited it to 10 after seeing it was dying after the second hop. Am I missing something here?
