I parked my car at home in the driveway which is also the sidewalk last night. Come this morning when my wife was leaving for work I see this gift that the San Francisco Department Of Parking and Traffic so nicely left for me. In it it said that I owe them $100 for parking on sidewalk (VC22500F). My house is at the end of the street and the sidewalk ends at my house. There is no further sidewalk after that until you walk another 80 to 100 feet on the road before the sidewalk appears again. The sidewalk is about 6 feet or so and it leads up to the garage. Since it's San Francisco there is nowhere else on earth to park and I have to use my driveway to park on since we have 2 cars.
Anyone ever had this happen to them in the city? I'm intending to fight them on this because it's unreasonable for them to issue a ticket when A) sidewalk ends at my house, B) issued the wrong date, and C) no where else to park. This is just another attempt by the freaking city to collect money. This freaking sucks and ruined my day.
That is all.
edit: I misread the ticket. I guess the 8/2006 is how much time I have to pay the ticket but the ticket was issued 8/15/2005. dang them. I hate the city and the meter maids!
