Yate Loons with just the 3 pin connector

Just got an NZXT rogue and have a ridiculous ammount of clutter because all the fans come with 5 pin molex. I still have room to add 2 more fans and plan on doing so. I'm looking on jab-tech and the YL's come with 4 pin molex with the 3 pin exension off the side, but I want to get rid of it completely.

It would be easier to just buy them without it, but if some modding needs to be done thats fine by me.

I either...

1. Snip them leaving about 1/2", and cover when sleeving (the extra length makes sure the wire stays in the sleeving)
2. Remove pins from 3-pin connector and snip as close to the pin as possible.

If you snip them without removing the pins first, it's pretty hard to get wire clippers/scissors close enough to the base with the connector in the way.

Seems we have a unanimous answer, I'll order and hopefully get it done when I'm back from vacation. Thanks.

Alternatively, you could always buy Yates without Molexes from PerformancePCs. For the low charge of an additional $3 per fan, they'll perform the service of cutting off the Molex connectors to save you the trouble of doing it yourself .

No, they have power connectors for both 3-pin and 4-pin (molex not PWM). You can use standard fan control via the 3-pin header.

It's just annoying to have one or the other dangling around in your case.
