i was trying to look for the generic version of this nexus fan, and saw this sucker instead. i'm about to order it, since it's local, but i have no clue if this it the correct version. anybody got any ideas?

sweeet! according the to the sticker, its a yate loon, even has the same code, D12SL-12. Jenova, let us know how it turns out.

good find Howard, nice link so i guess the orange/black ones are the best.

wait, actually the codes are different, the blue led version from the link is the M version, a hihger rpm version. The model from jenovas link is the D12sl-12, and from the specs listed on the PTS page, its quieter.

i dropped by yesterday to pick a few up. they're actually pretty quiet, even compared with my Nexus-branded fan. i can take pics tonight if you guys want to see them.

I have both types of Yate Loons......if you undervolt the blue LED model so it runs the same rpm as the slower Yate Loon, the two fans sound about the same. I doubt anyone could tell them apart with eyes closed. The blue LED model runs about 300 rpms faster at 12V. Both excellent fans......
