Is SVC still out of stock - then get 'em here (get them here regardless)! D12SL-12 at Jab-tech

If you don't need 3, they are $3.50 each. IMO, they can keep the orange ones for those who wish to pimp their cases or for the light in the arches crowd...

Enjoy!

If you don't mind orange, Nexfan.com has these for 2.99 each almost always (no minimum to buy, sometimes cheaper). This is a great company to do business with, no problems here at all.

thanks, picked up three. Of course I all-ready have 4 unused orange ones at home but I figure you can never have too many cheap (and good) 120's

What are the best 120mm fans? Are these good and long lasting considering they are sleeve bearing?

One of the quietest fans if connected to a fan controller.

Thanks for reminding me. I ordered some black ones from them on March 5th. It was a good deal, 5 for $20 shipped, but I still haven't got them and no tracking. I emailed them on Friday and haven't heard back. I don't know where they are located, but 2 weeks is a little long imo. Will update as soon as I get them or hear back from them.

Nexfan is near Pittsburgh. It took them a good while to get me a couple of Evercool fans I ordered via eBay too, but it was back around the holidays, so I cut 'em some slack... The fans eventually showed up.

Sonic,

The Yate Loons are basically the same as the Nexus fans. The Nexus are quieter because they use a dropping resistor to slow the fans. Using a fan controller, you can turn your $3. Y-L into a Nexus... The Y-Ls I have here are quiet enough for me without any controller, but the noise nazis are never satisfied. So the Yate Loons are quiet but they aren't great fans. The Sanyo Denki 120x38mm fans that petrastechshop and thermalfx (and I) sell when they have some are great fans. Delta fans are top quality. But generally they do require a fan controller as at normal speed they move a ton of air and are a bit noisy. Crank them down a bit and they get good and quiet. Most of the S-Ds I've tested will run from below 5V to above 13V, so you can adjust for just the combo of airflow and noise you want. Also sleeve bearing fans like the Y-L work best in the vertical orientation while ball-bearing fans work OK in either vert or horiz orientation.

So there is no one best fan, just the best one for your specific application. Read some of the fan threads here and you'll get an education.

I've ordered some of these from Jab-Tech a while back, and just reciently. I believe that this is the price that these fans always sell for there. Found that since I live in CA the USPS priority mail is cheaper and faster than the UPS ground. They are great fans. I just switch the pins so that they run on 5volts instead of 12, and they are virtually silent.

yeah Yate Loon's are great. They move a lot of air, they're quiet, and best of all they're inexpensive! I bought 10 of them a year ago for around the same price, still riding on them, but hot post OP.

Yeah, I know that jab-tech's price is their regular price, but folks thought it was great that SVC put them on "special" at that price and they are (or were) OOS.

How do you do that?

Depends on how many you want and what color you can tolerate (black, orange, blk w/ orange rotor, or LED). So the details are left to you. Between this and the SVC thread, you have all the info you need.

I got this response from them this morning.

"Thank you so much for your patience. 1pc of D12SL-12 is on
backorder, but new shipment should arrive either today or tomorrow at the
latest. I'll make sure to ship out your order ASAP. You will receive them early next week for sure. Thank you."

Does this mean that they didn't ship because they were short one fan? It's not as bad as it could be because these are for me, but if it were a build for someone else...

How would i be able to put this on my thermalright 120ultra? the reason why i ask is because the anandtech review states that if the fan has the mounting holes filled in it wont work. Any advice?

MSM,
. It doesn't look like they have an accy clip for a closed hole fan like they do for the XP-120 but maybe they just haven't posted the pic on their site yet. So give Thermalright a call to see if they have one yet. It's stupid that they don't include a clip for both - you'd think it would break them to do it... Otherwise, just get out your dremel and cut away what you need.

And as I said in the many other threads, sleeve bearing fans work best in the vertical orientation. Ball bearing fans work well in either orientation.
