Fan Size: 120mm x 120mm x 25mm
Airflow: 88.0 CFM
Noise: 40 dBA

Our supplier has assured us that these fans come directly from the Yate Loon factory in China. We will confirm once the shipment arrives and contact you if they are not the authentic YL fans.

This may be of interest.

Yes. These are not the Jab-Tech fans that had the small motors in them.

Don't let the 40 dBA scare you. I have 6 on an XSPC RX 360 in push/pull on a controller and noise is very manageable.

I am in need of some 120mm fans. What makes these so special? Also what type of connector do they have? 3 pin to attach to MB or 4 pin molex style?

So, is FTWPC a reliable place to order from? Anyone know if they're getting in the D12SL-12 versions?

Noise: 40 dBA

yikes.

Yup, these are the D12SH-12 models.

D12SH-12 2200RPM
D12SM-12 1650RPM
D12SL-12 1350RPM

My guess as to the model numbering scheme is:
D12SH-12
D = DC
12 = 12v
S = sleeve bearing (Sleeve/Ball)
H = speed (High/Medium/Low)
12 = 120mm

These are not the quiet fans you were looking for.

I am in need of some 120mm fans. What makes these so special?

Yate Loon 120mm fans (at least the "real" Yate Loons and not the knock-offs) are considered inexpensive, quiet (relative to the RPM) and reliable (compared to other sleeve bearing fans). They are used in many power supplies, and are even re-branded by companies like Nexus for super quiet models (Nexus adds a resistor).

The problems are... primarily the knock-offs. Basically fans that look just like the normal Yate Loons (down to the sticker) but which have inferior motors (smaller windings). These cheaper versions have inconsistent performance and may be noisier, plus they are known far and wide to not last as long. Here's a pic. The "Jab-Tech" one has the inferior motor. You can see that the mystery manufacturer even went as far as to hide the real size of the motor in the fan hub.

FTW PC is a reputable company. It is made up of 2 moderators from overclock.net who want to bring good products at great prices. I am one of those moderators so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will address them.

The fans are not the Jab Tech fans with the smaller motors. Our supplier has notified us that these are factory direct from Yate Loon. $5.10 to ship 4 fans nationwide is a great deal. We can do this by providing USPS flat rate padded envelopes. International shipping is $13.25 so our friends anywhere in the world can get the same great deal.

We do plan to offer medium and low speed fans, as well as 140mm versions down the road. We are first going to see how this goes over the next week or so and take it from there.

We also have options for sleeving the fans for $3.49 each if that's something you would like to have done. The intent of the OP was not to advertise, rather to make everyone aware of the pricing breaks we can offer since our overhead is so low.
