YASUVT: Should I buy a used Isuzu Rodeo?

I've been in the market to buy a used SUV for awhile now, and I came across a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo.

I think it's the S trim, w/ 3.2L V6, 4WD, ABS, PW, PS, AC, Tilt, and around 93000 miles. I ran a Carfax on it, and it came back clean, except for the fact that it was sold at an auction during one time (list as a fleet vehicle, whatever that means), and the car is from out of state (I'm in CA).

I took it to have a bumper-to-bumper pre-purchase vehicle inspection, and came back with several problems, but the mechanic said they're all something that can be dealt with and that there is no such thing as a perfect used car.

I know it's an Isuzu, but I really like the way it drove, especially when compared against Pathfinder, which was my first choice. If I can get it for below TMV from Edmunds, should I go for it? Several people told me Rodeos are prone to mechanical problems, especially at higher miles, but this will not be my everyday drive. I will be using this for weekends and snowboarding trips. I know that this SUV handles well in snow, which I need. Thanks in advance.

My ex had a Passport (Rodeo.. same thing.)

What a POS. It looked nice, but driving it was a pain. THe interior was cheesy and the truck was drafty.

Not my style.

Edit: If you like the way it drove... then to each their own.

Maybe I should say I liked the way the Rodeo drove compared to the Pathfinder. The Pathfinders I testdrove (all used) had rattles, didn't handle as well on freeways, and seemed less stable. Maybe I should testdrive some more, I dunno.

I had a Rodeo. It was a great vehicle til I wrecked it into a jersey barrier and totaled it. Stupid ice storm. :|

I had no problems with mine. It had good power and pickup and I loved driving it. I would get another one someday, but I couldn't afford it this time around.
