YASTT (speeding ticket): What does insurance receive from the BMV

So I got pulled over for not using my turn signal to change lanes which is a 4 point (Indiana) violation. Yes I am guilty; yes I will pay.

But my question is, Indiana offers this Defensive Driving Program that reduces your amount of points on your official driving record by 4 but does *not* remove the infraction from your record. So if I successfully complete the course, I will have 0 points on my record, but I will still have an infraction.

So, does the insurance company receive from the BMV the number of points a driver has, or the #/type of infractions?

Also, since this is my first violation, do any hoosiers know if Indiana offer some type of "agreement" for first time "bad drivers"?

the insurance companies look back as far as 36 months looking for any infractions on your license, so getting rid of the points wont do much except give u a larger buffer to get more tickets

you can defer a ticket in indiana(i know from personal experience) just go to the courthouse and sign
up for it. it costs about double the price of the ticket, but it is gone...no points, no infractions, no insurance
company, nothing, just gone. it's all about money.
