So I've decided I want to make a switch to DE or straight razors. After some consideration I decided I should start off with the DE, since it sounds like it will be easier to learn and will have a lower overhead than a straight razor. I can always try straight razors later.
I have some questions related to this.
First, I know I will need the razor and some blades, but is there anything else? Should I invest in some shaving soap and a brush, or will I be fine using up the shaving cream I still have?
Second, would I be able to purchase this material in a B&M store? If the prices and distance is reasonable, I would prefer taking a drive to pick one up today rather than looking around online and ordering one. However, I don't have the slightest idea of who would carry such items (maybe the barbershop, though I don't recall seeing any blades on sale last time I went).
