YAST: Yet another "situation" thread.

I am taking a very hard high school chem course this year, but I've been doing very well because I've been studying with one of my friends, let's call him Jason, and we do well when we study together. Another one of my friends, let's call him John, hasn't been trying his best in the course, and hasn't been studying with us. Therefore, his last quiz was a 32, and he is failing the course. We have a test on Monday, and I told John that we would try to work out our study time so he could join us. I didn't guarantee it, but I said we'd try. He works today from 8-3. He can only study after 3, and I would rather not study at 3, because I've got some other stuff to do then, as well as a few commitments around 6 or so. This should take a while. So, I feel bad telling this kid that studying isn't gonna work, because he's already failing this class. Im gonna tell him he can call me when I'm home tonight, and I'll be glad to answer any questions.

Am I really obliged to schedule my day so I can study with him at 3:30? I have other people I need to see, and I dont wanna just throw them out of the mix, simply to help him... but should I have to?

If you don't want him to be upset with you, then you should study with him. If I were failing a class and the people I was supposed to study with ditched me, I'd be mad. Think about what position he's in. If I were you, I'd have him come to your house after 3 or whenever you and he can make it, and study.

I'd suggest just doing your own shiz and helping him out later that evening if he has questions. CHEM IS EASY MANG.
