Not that spidah, Spider... man!

What I never got was, Spiderman suppose to have hooks on his skin that allows him to crawl on walls. OK, now, how the heck does he put a costume on and still be able to crawl on walls? 😕

Are the hooks that long?
 
In the comic book series, I remember reading that Spidey had slightly less traction when he wore his gloves. It never seemed to affect him though.
