That was at around 1 in the afternoon - shortly thereafter, it got decidedly worse - there's at elast 2x the amount of snow outside right now . . ..

That's nothing. We have drifts here that go over the tops of picnic tables and the piles around the parking lots from the plows are 6-10 feet high. (midwest Michigan)
Then again, because of the drifting, there are nearly-bare grassy areas...

Next to my apartment there is a channel where the snow blew through; it goes from >1in. in the middle (bare grass) to 2+feet drifts around the edges. Apparently we're supposed to get another half-foot tonight.

I'm in central IL - Like I said, this was relatively early in the afternoon - it got worse, and quick.
