YAST: Need help choosing a school.

I went to Colorado State for 2 and a half years as a CS major and managed to get a 1.78 gpa and a swift kick out the door. I went to the local Community College and got a 3.38 gpa and almost have my associate of arts degree. Rather than stay at the local CC for my degree, I've decided to go to a 4 year college in Colorado. I've applied to and been accepted at CU Boulder as a history major (which is what I should have studied), and I've been accepted at Colorado State again as a readmit. That means I have a semester to get my gpa over a 2.0 otherwise they kick me out again. Now, here's the question.

Assuming it doesn't matter which school I go to based upon night life, location, cost, or anything else, which would you choose. Would you go to CU Boulder and start off with a fresh academic record, or would you go back to Colorado State, despite the crappy grades and do your best?

i voted boulder because i've heard decent things about the school, whereas i haven't heard anything about colorado state.
