The TV station said one officer said he spotted what was believed
to be a weapon, and Peters shot and killed Loxas while the 50-year-
old man was holding the toddler, who was not injured.

No weapon had been found, KPHO-TV said.

wow, who cares if the baby got shot, right? :\

Peters fired the fatal shot in five of the six cases that ended in death, the TV station said.

Dumbest poll ever - how can 0 be too many?

And Infiniti is a automobile brand.

I voted 4 - oh wait, it's not in the poll :)

Some cops are unlucky. I think each shooting should be looked at objectively regardless of the cop. Whether a cop has ten shootings or zero, as soon as a shooting is deemed 'unjustified' by a credible jury, the cop needs to go.

i don't know man. sometimes 0 is one too many for some cops. you could just look at him and no that he aint right and shouldnt be wearing the badge. i guess that can explain the 0 option.

Uh, you can't really place a hard number on something like that. In this case there are witnesses that claim the victim had a gun and hell, it's AZ, practically everyone has a gun. However, I'm sure the cop is more trigger happy than others and I'm sure pretty much no matter what he'll be found to be in the right of using deadly force.

Poll fail.

How many justified and cleared shootings by a cop is too many? There is no limit.

How many unjustified and criminally liable shootings by a cop is too many? One.

Pardon me, SandEagle, but your hatred of cops is showing.

As many as he needs to shoot.

If it's one in his career, fine.

If it's 1000 in his career, also fine.

I'd rather a cop shoot a perpetrator than to have that perp get away and kill some "innocent civilian."

Apparently the guy HOLDING THE BABY? 15 yards with a scoped rifle is not exactly a difficult shot, btw.

Oh, and:

Associated Press said:
Police said Loxas went back in his house after allegedly threatening the neighbors, then opened the door with the 9-month-old grandson in his arms but wouldn't come out.

Several officers called for him to come outside, but Loxas refused, Rodbell said. Peters shot Loxas in the head with a scope-equipped rifle from about 15 yards away when he leaned over and reached inside the house.

Loxas died instantly, and fell with the baby in his arms, police spokesman Sgt. Mark Clark said. The baby was unhurt.

Police said a loaded handgun was tucked into the side of a chair a few feet inside the door, and a shotgun was also found nearby.

I know several state police officers and detectives. Most of them have 10 plus years on the force and they have never killed one person let alone half dozen. It may be a troll thread, but that is a lot of shootings for one police officer.

Advice needed: I'm at the office right now and I haven't made my first cup of coffee yet. Any advice on what flavor I should try?

Sandeagle I just want to say that I appreciate these threads, this is a good topic for discussion - just because it's something that people don't want to acknowledge doesn't make it a troll thread.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

so the cop executed the guy.

and so what if weapons were "found" in the house big fucking deal the man was not armed with anything but a baby when the cop blasted his brains out. the hand gun tucked away in a couch several feet away and a shotgun found somewhere in the house were no threat to anybody.

i do not see how this is justified at all. the cop is a trigger happy nut job and i hope he goes to prison for a long time for murder.
