YASBT: How long does it take you to drink a Frappuccuno?

Edit: They're only 9.5oz. I usually down mine in a minute or less. I never even savor it.

I wonder if there is a way to make your own?

Edit: I'm talking about the ones you buy at corner stores, grocery stores, etc. Not the ones at Starbucks. I've only been to a Starbucks once, I don't know what those are like

A minute? <Quake> Impressive </Quake>

It takes me about approx. 5 minutes to down one if I'm not savouring it. 10 if I am.

Yes, it's really easy to make one. Although I must say if you're not pausing to enjoy the flavor at all, you've wasted your money 😛
To make it, just make a batch of whatever flavor coffee using 1 scoop of coffee per cup prepared, cool it somehow, then mix with about half mix and then sugar to taste.

It's not the size that's the issue. It's the brain freeze. I tried downing one really fast but the brain freeze pwned me.

Are you talking about the little ones you buy from corner stores or the blended ones from Starbucks stores? Those little ones I can down in one gulp...I don't buy Frap's at Starbucks though.

IIRC, it has to do with the cold temperature constricting blood vessels in your neck which results in a temporarily lessened blood flow to your head.

How big are the ones from Starbucks? These little ones don't give me brainfreeze at all... These must be big or something.

I know why brainfreeze happens. The roof of your mouth is very sensitive to temperature. And when a cold beverage runs over the top of your mouth, it cools the blood down real fast. If you breathe real slow, or put your toungue on the top of your mouth, it warms it back up, and the "brainfreeze" goes away.

Make it yourself:

1/2 cup fresh espresso
2 1/2 cups low-fat milk (2 percent)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon dry pectin

Combine all ingredients in a covered container. Shake while still hot until sugar and pectin are dissolved.

Then you can serve chilled, or frosty style.

The pectin is the key for that creamy texture.

Add a shot of your favorite flavored syrup. I like Vanilla. Use cocoa powder for Mocha.

Use double strength coffee.

I have no idea what you're talking about, so I'm going to have to assume it's these.. in that case, typically 3 gulps...

It's so hard to drink them slowly.. lol

yeah its those! man they're tasty... worst two dollars someone could ever spend 😀

BTW, they sell larger size bottles now.

Just remember to enjoy them as a once on a while treat. They pack twice as much sugar and calories than soda. And caffeine is NOT a good thing to get addicted to.

You kept saying it wasn't the Starbucks things, so that was throwing me off.. lol

If you buy them from Wal-Mart, Target, etc.. they are much cheaper than from a place like 7-11.
