YARTAMPOSD: Is my transmission going to sh!t?

I was backing outta my driveway this morning and the car started jerking for a second while I was backing up. I drove like 15 minutes to work and it didnt jerk at all. I come home 8 hours later, put my car in reverse again to get out of the driveway, and it starts jerking again for just a split second. I drive 15 minutes to the gym with no jerking at all. After Im done working out, my car starts jerking for a second when I put it in reverse. On the 15 min. drive home, the car jerked twice, when I lift my foot off the brake pedal and about to put it on the gas. Guy at my work said the tranny is slipping. Is he right, and how long do I have before it completely craps out?
stats:

Dodge Intrepid, 125K, 3.5L V6 auto, tranny rebuilt at 96,000.

Cliff notes: my car's a piece of sh!t

(yet another repair thread about my pos dodge)

I feel for ya the transmissions in both my cars need repairing, is the tranny still under warranty from the rebuilders?
You might want to try a fluid and filter change.
also checkout the forums at www.allpar.com, very helpful people there that are quite knowledgeable about MoPar stuff.

really wasnt my choice...my dad, thinking he was smart, bought the damn thing at a public auto auction when it had 96,000 miles on it (a day after we bought it, he realized that the tranny had to be rebuilt). Im so friggin sick of this thing that I gave my permission to my friends to turn it on its roof and light it on fire if the Cubs win the World Series

at this point, Im NOT making any more repairs to this POS. I just wanna get rid of it before it becomes a bigger problem

#1. Did you check the fluid level? You do this with the vehicle running in neutral.
#2. Take the dipstick out and drip a drip onto a paper towel. if you see rings or a black spot in the center, your fluid is toast.

I am willing ot bet you are low on fluid based on your descriptions.

When they say "When you change your transmission fluid, always use the recommended (in the manual) fluid." and then 5 paragraphs down they say "There is no universal automatic transmission fluid. Chrysler four-speed automatics only use ATF+3 (ATF+4 for 2000 and up vehicles),
regardless of what the dipstick or owner's manual says.
", what the hell are you supposed to follow?
