YART: Yet Another Roommate Thread

Roommate sleeps in my room. We bunk. He and I don't get along. This is not about him really. Recently I tried to be more nice. We actually exchange words now. I offer him food. I turn off my computer at night. I try to be more quiet because he sleeps earlier.


Apartment mate who sleeps in other room is socially awkward. He thinks talking to me at 2AM is friendly. So in his normal conversation voice, he talks to me. He stands at my door and says "Hey it's spring break, are you going home?" or sometimes its.. "What are you studying for?"

HELLO!??!?! MY roommate that doesnt like the fact I sleep late is freaking SLEEPING. As much as I don't like my roommate, I show him tons of respect, and I thikn its annoying that Mr. Apartmentmate thinks he needs to talk to me in his normal voice at 2AM. Freaking IM me or something geez. Don't distract my roommate who's already asleep. Not only that, he just makes it so my roommate has more to hate me.

Oh well, I get to move out soon enough away from these crazy nerds.
 
So, say to the Aptmate "shut up. It's 2 in the fracking morning. Can't you see XXXX is sleeping? IM me or something, jesus." instead of posting it here.

hmmm... have you asked him to keep it down while talking to you @ two in the morning... i mean how hard is it to say... "xxxx, is sleeping, can we keep it down..."

dang, I'm disappointed. I clicked expecting to read something along the lines of "and my roommate and his girlfreind are doing the horizontal ho-down in the other bed :Q"

I'm glad that my worst roommate problems have been that he likes to dress less and turn up the heat more (not too extreme though, fortunately), and that he likes waking up to some pop music crap on his alarm clock radio... five or six times... before he gets up for good. After a few times of me using a computer/Klipsch 2.1 promedia/alarm clock program system to wake up to either some "energetic" classical music or one of Dream Theater's harder songs, he seems to have understood and now generally wakes up after only two or three attempts. 😉
 
you are a tool because you came here to tell us basically that you are too much of a pvssy to tell him to shut the fvck up since it's 2am and your other roomate is sleeping. you sound like you get walked on and are very passive.

Well I don't really CARE about my roommate that much. IT's just like a short 30 second convo my apt mate wants to hold once every week or something at 2AM. I just plug my headphones back in and keep doing whatever I'm doing.

Usually its a Thursday night, which means I come back from the club or I'm watching TV shows I missed through the week, and I just go back to watching my show

I'm getting walked on? No.
